Details

This dish is a unique and flavorful blend of Parmesan cheese and olive oil combined with 100% semolina wheat couscous and parsley. Our Couscous products are made from tiny granules of pasta and have a light and fluffy texture.

Classic Mediterranean Garden Couscous
   Prep Time: 10 minutes - Cook Time: 10 minutes
1 package NEAR EAST® Couscous Parmesan
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cups chicken breast, skinless, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1¼ cups water
2 tablespoons white cooking wine
2 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets, thawed, chopped
¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
1 cup fresh tomatoes, chopped

1. In large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook chicken and garlic for 5 to 8 minutes or until chicken is golden brown and no longer pink inside.
2. Stir in water, cooking wine and contents of Spice Sack; bring to boil.
3. Stir in Near East® couscous and broccoli; cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in cheese and tomatoes right before serving.
6 servings (1 cup each)

Variations
For a creative twist, add one of the following to prepared couscous.

  • ¼ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

  • ½ cup cooked green peas and 1 finely chopped clove garlic

  • 1 cup cooked diced chicken and ¼ cup thinly sliced green onions.
