Pineapple Thumb Art

Children will create a picture of a pineapple by dipping their thumb in different colors.
Activity Appropriate for Ages 5-10

Malisa Lewis has a passion for children to embrace every piece of who they are. She is a Georgia native, having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and minor in Vocal Music from Columbus State University. Malisa was a private school teacher for four years and oversaw all of the elementary campus’s major music programs.As a recent Michigander, she is now pursuing a master’s degree in ministry. Her overall passion is for children to become better, inside and out, through education and nutrition. That passion has come to life in her recent children’s book, “Grow Tad’s Potato.” Malisa specializes in teaching lessons to young learners in innovative ways using music, crafts, games and now, food. As she continues to embark upon this journey she is intertwining healthy eating habits into lessons for children. Her belief is that healthy eating for young children will help them to achieve academic excellence in the classroom; so that’s what she plans to teach.
